Workplace Giving

Many employers sponsor annual workplace giving campaigns through which employees can elect to make payroll deductions to selected charities. Others will make a gift in honor of an employee's volunteer service hours. There are many ways local businesses support the Wisconsin Humane Society. Ask your HR department if your company participates in these programs and if not, encourage your employer to give back through workplace giving. If you have any questions, please contact Jenny Mueller. Thank you for your support!

Matching Gifts
Many generous employers in the Milwaukee area encourage charitable contributions by matching your gift dollar for dollar. Companies such as Harley Davidson, Assurant Health, Johnson Controls and many others participate in matching gifts programs and make a positive impact in our community. Check with your company to find out if they offer this great opportunity!

Company Grants for Volunteer Service
Some employers will give grants to organizations where their employees volunteer. Ask your Human Resources department if this is available at your company and how you can take advantage of this opportunity to help us even more.

Does your company participate in United Way?
If your employer participates in a United Way campaign, you can also select the Wisconsin Humane Society to receive your donation by writing us in under “Donor Choice.”

Work For a Government Agency?
If you work in one of the following government agencies or school district offices, you can give to WHS through payroll deduction in your Combined Giving Campaign (campaign dates listed below). Please ask your co-workers to designate their pledge to WHS through payroll deduction. The biggest reason people don’t give is that they aren’t asked. Please help support us by reminding your co-workers about these campaigns. They can find our organization easily by looking under the “Community Shares” umbrella in their pledge brochure. Thank you!

Community Shares
The Wisconsin Humane Society is part of a workplace giving organization called Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee. Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee (formerly ACHOICE) is Milwaukee’s only workplace giving federation with an emphasis on Social Change, Economic Justice and Environmental Awareness – with its focus completely on conditions in metropolitan Milwaukee. Founded in 1981, its mission is to build a community that ensures social equity and a healthy environment by connecting donors with issues they are passionate about. Its agencies address a range of issues including: animal welfare, crime and drug abuse, racism, sexism, homophobia, unemployment, the environment, urban violence, homelessness, civil liberties, housing, voter education, child abuse, needs of the elderly and the education of our children.

The following list of companies may be holding a Community Shares workplace giving campaign. For more information about how your company can participate in Community Shares, email or call our development department at (414) 431-6128. Please be aware that some of these companies require employees to contact their HR department for a Community Shares pledge form.
