Wildlife and window wells

Uncovered window wells can be deadly when animals get inside and can't get back out. You can protect animals by covering window wells either with commercial plastic window well covers or with homemade mesh covers or grates. Openings should be no larger than about 1/2 inch or 1 centimeter.
