Teaching Kids about Kindness
Developing and Implementing Humane Education in the Classroom/Community Environments


The Wisconsin Humane Society is excited to offer a one-credit course for teachers through the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. The class, Ed Pol 379: Teaching Kids about Kindness: Developing and Implementing Humane and Character Education into the Classroom/Community Environments, is designed to meet the needs of both current and pre-service teachers.
The class will explore the nature of and need for humane education in the classroom and provide opportunities for teachers to develop curriculum to implement in their classrooms.

The course will be offered at the Wisconsin Humane Society and will be on two Saturdays (both Saturdays must be attended for the course), October 3rd and November 7th from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. The class will also be offered in the spring semester of 2010.
