Be Kind to Animals Celebration
Be Kind to Animals Week
2010
Take Time to Be Kind
You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be too late.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Be Kind to Animals Week is the oldest celebrated week in the nation! Recognized officially by the 108th Congress in 1915, this special week continues to remind us of the things animals do to enhance our lives. Each year the Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies encourage students and teachers to join our celebration. This year we will host several events, and it is not too early to start preparing for your school's involvement now!
This year’s theme is “Take Time to Be Kind.” Being kind is possible for everyone, if we just take the time to do it. It could mean doing a fundraising project for a local shelter or even simply taking the time to play with your dog or cat at home.
Each year, the Wisconsin Humane Society encourages students and teachers to join our celebration we offer a poster, poetry and photography contest to young people in the community to spread the word about the importance of being kind to animals. Get involved today!
