Adopt a Huggable Hound
Many hounds are available for adoption today at the
Wisconsin Humane Society

Milwaukee – There are currently 25 hound mixes available for adoption at the Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies. These hounds range in age from 12-weeks-old to 10-years-old. Hounds make great companion animals for all different types of families.

The Wisconsin Humane Society’s top 10 reasons to adopt a hound are:

10. They’ll never complain about your singing; they’ll always join in.
9. All of the hounds available for adoption at WHS have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. A healthy dog is a happy dog.
8. How can you resist those droopy eyes and ears?
7. A hound’s personality is calm, cool and collected.
6. A sweet, wrinkly face will always be ready to enthusiastically greet you.
5. Petting a hound’s velvety soft ears is a great way to start the day.
4. Need to get more exercise? These guys love to run.
3. With a nasal ability thousands of times greater than our own, expect to see their nose to the ground most of the time. Maybe you could train your hound to find truffles!
2. “Have food-will follow" is a hound’s motto. This will make coming when called an easy task.
