Wisconsin Humane
Society Named
"Best Place to Work" in Southeastern Wisconsin
MILWAUKEE
?The Wisconsin Humane Society, an animal welfare
organization whose mission is to build a community
where people value animals and treat them with respect
or kindness, has been named for the second time
as one of the "Best Places to Work" in
Southeastern Wisconsin in Milwaukee Magazine. This
is MRA ? The Management Association's fourth annual
study of workplace practices.
"All of us at
the Wisconsin Humane Society are excited to be recognized
for the great place to work that we've created,"
said Victoria Wellens, executive director of the
Wisconsin Humane Society. "It's evident that
our employees are committed and passionate about
saving lives. The staff gives 110 percent to the
animals, which is a significant factor in what makes
our organization what it is today."
To be honored as part
of this exclusive list, the Wisconsin Humane Society
filled out a comprehensive online survey containing
more than 500 detailed questions. Many of the questions
focused on areas such as salary, training, turnover
rate, benefits, perks, work-life balance and community
involvement. The Wisconsin Humane Society was specifically
cited for developing younger workers and diversity
in the workplace.
An initial 183 companies
started to fill out the survey, but only 81 completed
the survey. The winning companies were named the
"Best Places to Work" within one of three
categories: large companies (501 or more employees);
medium-sized companies (101-500 employees); or small
companies (fewer than 100 employees).
