Teaching Kids Character, Kindness and Compassion
Wisconsin Humane Society and UW-Milwaukee Partner to offer innovative course

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Humane Society is excited to offer a one-credit course for teachers through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The class is designed to meet the needs of both current and pre-service teachers. It will explore the need for humane education and provide opportunities for teachers to develop curriculum to implement in their own classrooms.

“This class has such exciting potential because by teaching teachers how to implement humane education into their curriculum, we are able to reach an exponential number of young people and help to create a kinder community in the process,” explains Dezarae Jones Hartwig, education manager at the Wisconsin Humane Society.

The course will be offered at the Wisconsin Humane Society and will be on two Saturdays (both Saturdays are required attendance), October 3 and November 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
