Doesha's
Tough Break
MILWAUKEE ?
Poor little Doesha, a 4-month-old Terrier
mix fell off a second story balcony and broke her
leg. Doesha's guardian couldn't afford veterinary
care and decided the best thing to do was to bring
her to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
Doesha arrived at the
Wisconsin Humane Society in mid-November unable
to put any weight on her leg at all. Although
Doesha's leg didn't work properly and was limp,
this didn't prevent her from hopping over to the
WHS veterinary staff to say hello.
After a thorough examination
and a round of x-rays, WHS veterinarians determined
Doesha's leg couldn't be saved due to the severity
of the break. Doesha's entire leg was successfully
amputated. The day after Doesha's surgery,
staff could tell Doesha was relieved to no longer
have the burden of a limp, painful leg.
Today, the moment you
meet Doesha it is evident how happy she is.
She will be the first to greet anyone new and readily
welcomes people with great big kisses. Despite
Doesha's scary fall and significant injury, she
remains cheerful and eager to please.
Doesha will soon be
available for adoption. To learn more about
Doesha, contact the Wisconsin Humane Society at
