Treatment Time Flies By for Two Neglected Kittens

MILWAUKEE – Buzz and Goldie arrived at the Wisconsin Humane Society with their little necks swollen and raw from an infestation of fly larvae under their skin. Frustrated and uncomfortable, it was obvious to see that the cute little duo had been neglected.

Luckily, WHS veterinarians were able to surgically remove the larvae from under their skin. Most of their hair has grown back, and they have both responded well to treatment.

Unfortunately, it is not all that uncommon for animals to become infested like Buzz and Goldie. A common problem this time of year, fly larvae enter the animal usually through the mouth or nose and burrow to warm areas.

All the cats who arrive at the Wisconsin Humane Society get special attention and Buzz and Goldie are no exception.  After weeks of treatment, the little cats are ready to be adopted by a guardian who will safeguard them from neglect.

For more information about Buzz and Goldie, please call the Wisconsin Humane Society at (414) ANIMALS.  Additional information about the Wisconsin Humane Society can be obtained by visiting www.wihumane.org.
