URGENT -- CALL TO ACTION ADVISORY
WHS Encourages the Community to Vote AGAINST Question 62

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Humane Society urges everyone to attend tonight's Wisconsin Conservation Congress public meeting in their county and vote AGAINST Question 62 being passed. This question asks if free-roaming cats should be classified as unprotected, meaning that they can legally be shot.

Every county will hold a meeting tonight at 7 p.m. to vote on this issue; it is recommended that people come early. You must attend the meeting in order for your vote to count. The meeting in Milwaukee County will be held in Greenfield High School 's Auditorium, 4800 S. 60 th St . To find the meeting outside Milwaukee County , please visit the Department of Natural Resources' Web site: http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/nrboard/congress/sh/lo/index.htm

Jill DeGrave, the Wisconsin Humane Society's education director, will be available today to talk with the media about this issue and discuss humane solutions for controlling cats, including having them spayed or neutered and keeping them indoors. To schedule a time to talk with Jill, please call Michelle Pintar at (414) 431-6104.
