Help Special Needs Dog Find a Home
MILWAUKEE – Remember Zippy? He needs our help!!! The adorable Pug/American Eskimo mix came to the Wisconsin Humane Society in May with a severely fractured front leg. WHS veterinarians determined that Zippy needed immediate specialized surgery and a steel plate was inserted into his leg, which has now healed enough for the little guy to be put up for adoption.
Zippy is a gregarious and sweet little guy who needs a very special home. He will need to have a check-up with WHS doctors in 6 weeks to make sure the metal plate is still secure. He also requires a home where his guardians are kind and patient. Zippy’s activity must be restricted until this appointment and he has become a master beggar. It takes a very special person to resist his pleas to run around in crazy circles and unfortunately, this sort of activity could be very detrimental to his health. He needs a compassionate guardian with willpower strong enough to say, “Sorry, Zippy. Wait ‘til August.”
Could Zippy be your perfect companion? He is now up for adoption and we are taking special applications for him. To learn more about the special application process, contact the Wisconsin Humane Society at (414) 431-6409 or email Suzie at sweniger@wihumane.org.
Interview/Photo Opportunity: A WHS representative will be available to speak with the media on Friday, June 29 from 9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.; Zippy the dog will be available for filming, as well. Please call Angela Speed at 431-6104 to schedule an appointment.
