Pet store legislation

Milwaukee’s Public Safety Committee will consider an ordinance proposed by Alderman Tony Zielinski that would prohibit pet stores from selling commercially bred dogs, cats and rabbits. This ordinance would protect both animals and consumers and encourage people to adopt animals from rescue groups and shelters, or obtain animals from reputable breeders, preventing animal suffering at mass-breeding facilities. If you are a Milwaukee resident, please attend the Public Safety Committee at Milwaukee’s City Hall (200 E Wells St, Milwaukee, WI 53202, Room 301-B) on Thursday, May 1 at 9:00 a.m. to voice your support for this important ordinance.

Hope's Lights 2014

Each year we illuminate the shelter and grounds at the Wisconsin Humane Society with holiday lights in honor and in memory of special people and animals in our lives. Please help us kick off the season of giving with a gift to Hope’s Lights. Every $25 light makes a real difference in the life of an animal.
