Three 3-Legged Dogs Available for Adoption

MILWAUKEE - It’s an unusual day at the Wisconsin Humane Society, where three 3-legged dogs are lined up in adoption, all waiting for a loving home for the holidays.

Nahla, a 8-month-old longhaired Chihuahua, Mijo, a 3.5-year-old shorthaired Chihuahua, and Benji, a 2-year-old Bichon, all came to the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) with extensive fractures and in one case, severe nerve damage.

WHS veterinarians knew that the best prognosis for each of the dogs was to have amputation surgery. After the procedures, all three dogs recovered remarkably fast, and don’t seem to know what all the fuss is about. They are just excited to prance around, now free of pain.

These precious pups are now searching for a new and loving place to call home. For more information about Nahla, Mijo or Benji, please call the Wisconsin Humane Society at (414) ANIMALS or visit www.wihumane.org.
