Gus

2000 - 2013

Gus was our one and only dog, and he was one of a kind!! Even though he was 115 pounds and had long legs, he thought he was a lap dog. Every morning, he would come into our bedroom right before the alarm would go off and cuddle between us.

We took him to Northern Wisconsin every year for 12 years, where he swam every day and then was treated like a king when we would pull Gus in a carrier behind us when we went for a bike ride. It was fun trying to pull Gus up the big hills on the trail! His favorite thing was to play ball, and was always looking for a willing playmate. Gus would often make the rounds, and visit the neighbors nearby to get his daily treats. We made many new friends in our neighborhood when Gus introduced us!! He was our best buddy, and he will be greatly missed! - The Wein Family

Hope's Lights 2014

Each year we illuminate the shelter and grounds at the Wisconsin Humane Society with holiday lights in honor and in memory of special people and animals in our lives. Please help us kick off the season of giving with a gift to Hope’s Lights. Every $25 light makes a real difference in the life of an animal.
