Saving Wildlife - Vera
Vera is a Red-eyed Vireo. Red-eyed vireos are birds of the forest, and as such, are more often heard than seen. But they are common birds in the right habitat, even in suburban parks and yards with sufficient numbers of mature trees.
Vera had been injured when she collided with a window. She spent a few weeks in our wildlife hospital where staff and volunteers cared for her and monitored her progress.
Thanks to the great care she received at the WHS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Vera recovered fully. She was released north of Milwaukee so she could continue her northward migration.
