Maddy - Staff Pick!

Are you looking for a sweet, gentle and loyal companion? Scroll no further-meet Maddy-she's perfect!

Maddy is a 9-year-old blue domestic short hair, but there's nothing "blue" about her. She is calm, cuddly, easy-going and affectionate. She's as funky as she is chunky, and looking for her forever home where she can enjoy the life of luxury she deserves. There's a reason she is staff pick! Maddy loves getting chin scratches, taking couch naps, giving kisses and showing off her little teefs. Now available from foster, her short-term family has nothing but adoration for this sweet girl (and they're in utter disbelief she hasn't been scooped up yet!). We are confident you'll fall in love with Maddy!

Don't wait... email megansfostersmke@gmail.com to schedule a meet-and-greet. And better yet, her foster family will match your adoption fee (name-your-own fee) up to $50, meaning your donation can go twice as far to help animals like Maddy at the Wisconsin Humane Society.

5 reasons to adopt an adult/senior pet (like Maddy!):
1. They'll help you slow down. We live in a busy world and a cat like Maddy understands the importance of taking it easy and enjoys a slower pace with lots of rest and relaxation.
2. They are independent and know their manners. Since she's learned the ropes already, Maddy will remain perfectly content without supervision while you work from home or go out and about.
3. You'll know what to expect. While the personalities of kittens change as they grow up, personalities of adult animals are fully formed. That doesn't mean adult cats can't learn; in fact, they can be amazingly adaptive.
4. They'll be forever grateful. It can be more difficult for some pets than others to adjust to losing their homes, and adult/senior pets know what they're missing when they end up in a shelter. All Maddy needs to know is that she's safe and cared for again, and she'll love you forever.
5. You're helping an animal in need. All animals in shelters need loving homes, but the demand is particularly high for adults/seniors. Deciding to help a cat like Maddy means you're helping an animal in need, all while enjoying the many perks that come with bringing an older pet into your home.

Every animal is an individual and WHS works hard to make great matches for our animals and adopters.  Some animals may have placement restrictions or requirements established by WHS based on shelter observations and previous home histories.  When meeting with your adoption counselor, they review each animal’s medical, behavior, and placement needs with you to help you find an animal who is compatible with your home environment and your lifestyle.  There are no time limits at WHS, all animals in adoption have as long as it takes to find a new loving home.  Stop in and speak with our adoption counseling team today – we look forward to meeting with you.
