Ciara

Ciara is available for adoption from the comfort of a foster home in the Milwaukee area. Here is what her foster parent has to say about her:

Hi, I'm Ciara. My foster mom says I'm really sweet and have a happy personality. I have a lot of energy and have found that I love the outdoors. I really do like having another dog (or more) to keep me company at home and play with. It really fills my cup to run, sniff, and tumble around outside with my foster siblings. If you are an outdoor enthusiast and love to hike or run, I would make a great partner for your adventures. I like car rides and I walk great on a leash. I'm also a little overweight so all the exercise is really good for me. My mom says I'm a little sensitive, so speaking to me with a soft voice works really well. I listen very well, and we're working on some fun obedience tricks and skills. In the foster home I am potty trained.

I have enjoyed meeting a few new people while I have been here in my foster home. I'm always excited and line up for any pets they want to give me. I haven't met any children yet, so I don't know what to make of them.

I do need a family or owner who is patient. I have some anxiety which is manageable with training and time. Currently I don't crate, it scares me and I bark until you come let me out. My foster mom is working with me to go into a tall playpen for meal times so I get less afraid. While she's at work I stay in a room with another dog and that makes me much more comfortable.

Every animal is an individual and WHS works hard to make great matches for our animals and adopters.  Some animals may have placement restrictions or requirements established by WHS based on shelter observations and previous home histories.  When meeting with your adoption counselor, they review each animal’s medical, behavior, and placement needs with you to help you find an animal who is compatible with your home environment and your lifestyle.  There are no time limits at WHS, all animals in adoption have as long as it takes to find a new loving home.  Stop in and speak with our adoption counseling team today – we look forward to meeting with you.
