Free Veterinary Exam

All animals adopted from the Wisconsin Humane Society go home with a certificate for a free health exam at a participating veterinary office! The exam must be scheduled within 7 days of adoption and does not cover the cost of any additional services or medications your vet may provide. 

Free VCA Animal Hospital Vet Exam

Our friends at VCA Animal Hospitals have generously offered every WHS adopter a certificate for a free vet exam with no expiration date. Please locate the VCA Animal Hospitals Certificate in the back pocket of your Adoption Handbook for full details and participating locations.

30 Days of Pet Insurance

MetLife Pet Insurance has arranged for you and your newly adopted dog or cat to receive 30 days of pet insurance -OR- a $10 Amazon gift card at no cost to you. The 30-day period covers up to $500 of invoices and has a $50 deductible (excludes pre-existing conditions). To take advantage of this offer, you must call 855-710-7387 to activate your pet's coverage or claim your gift card. Please see the handout in the back of your Adoption Handbook for more information.

Behavior Support

Whether you've adopted 10 days or 10 years ago, WHS is committed to providing free behavioral support throughout every stage of your pet's life! Start by browsing our online library full of behavior tips and general advice. Don't see what you're looking for? Simply email asktheexpert@wihumane.org or call 414-431-6173 for personalized advice.

GoodPup is a dog training app that allows owners to connect with certified trainers for live, virtual training sessions that can work on your phone, laptop, or tablet. GoodPup uses positive reinforcement methods and offers training for dogs of all ages. The first week is free and clients can cancel at any time. Fear Free Happy Homes 

Visit Fear Free Happy Homes for free access to videos, handouts, articles, and other resources to help you better understand your pet's needs and behavior. A happy, relaxed, well-cared-for pet is less likely to develop behavioral challenges or even certain illnesses!

Affordable Vaccines

If you've recently adopted, your pet should be up to date on their basic vaccines, but keep us in mind when it comes time for their booster shots! We offer low-cost Vaccine Clinics at all of our campuses.
