Flood victims from Oklahoma Need Our Help

6.23.15 - Today, 12 of the 23 pups have been cleared for adoption! They'll be available at our Milwaukee and Ozaukee Campus. Please visit www.wihumane.org/adopt and look for the "Oklahoma Flood" tag after their name. The rest of the dogs will be listed on the website soon once they're ready to find loving homes!

6.20.15 - For the last several weeks, roaring floods have swept across Oklahoma and Texas, destroying homes and businesses, and taking lives.  The federal government has declared a state of emergency.

Among the many whose lives have been destroyed are animals.  Many families who lost their homes can no longer care for their animals and must surrender them to shelters.  Shelters are doing their best to help, but many were already overcrowded before the floods, and few have the resources to keep up with the growing need for food and space.

On Saturday, June 21, 23 of these dogs are being given a second chance at life.  They are making the journey from Save our Strays, a dog rescue organization in Oklahoma, north to the Wisconsin Humane Society, where they will receive medical care, nourishment, and eventually, loving homes.

Will you make a donation to help us care for these pups?  We couldn't save them without your support, and we're so thankful for any amount that you can contribute to their care - it all truly makes a huge difference. If you are interested in making a donation of any size, please click here.

p.s. The Oklahoma dogs will be available for adoption on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please check back for updates on their availability and location
