Luke

A Second Chance for Luke

When Luke arrived at the Wisconsin Humane Society, the tiny Chihuahua was trembling in a blanket. The 3-month-old Chihuahua had been innocently playing when he accidentally fell off a windowsill.

Even the short fall proved to be too big of a leap for such a petite fellow. Luke’s fragile leg had broken. His family couldn't care for him, so they brought the sweet puppy to us.

Luke Gets Examed

WHS veterinarians gave Luke a thorough examination, including taking x-rays of the fracture.

The fracture was complex and Luke needed specialized surgery to insert pins into his leg. These pins stabilized his pencil-thin bones and helped the puppy heal faster. Luke continued to recover in a home with a foster family who could attend to the emotional, social and physical needs of our very special boy.

Thank You For Your Support

The costs associated with Luke’s veterinary treatment, surgery, hospital stay and adoption services reached $3,000.

Like all the animals at WHS, Luke depended on donations from individuals like you to provide expert animal care and adoption services. You made all the difference in Luke's life.

Luke was a model patient and thanks to the donations received, expert veterinarians and a generous foster family, Luke completely healed and was adopted into a loving home.
