Partnership Programs
Currently offered through our Milwaukee Campus
The Wisconsin Humane Society is honored to partner with COA Youth and Family Services Goldin Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Milwaukee to provide programming for the young people they serve. Through positive, hands-on learning experiences, children learn about our mission and have the opportunity to develop stronger bonds with animals.
COA Partnership
The Wisconsin Humane Society partners with COA Youth and Family Services Goldin Center, an organization located in the community that we serve through our Pets for Life outreach program. Our Pets for Life team provides door-to-door outreach and access to pet care services, and our Youth Programs team connects with young people to engage the community across generations. Our work with young people seeks to build a relationship with our organization and mission, creating sustainable community change.
We provide afterschool programming at COA’s Goldin Center, and the kids at COA are able to visit our Milwaukee Campus, as well. We provide information about animal safety, the physical and emotional needs of animals, and resources that the Wisconsin Humane Society provides to support both people and animals in our community. Students take a behind-the-scenes tour, learn about careers in animal welfare and our wildlife rehabilitation center, and, of course, meet animals.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Partnership
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) provides children facing adversity with professionally supported one-to-one relationships with adult mentors. The Wisconsin Humane Society hosts activities that introduce BBBS matches ("Bigs" and "Littles") to WHS animals, including dogs, cats, wildlife, and more. The program is designed to help children learn more about animals and, through a fun evening together, build a stronger bond with their mentor.
